PART I. "VETERAN" DEFINED.

9-901. "VETERAN" DEFINED.

IN THIS SUBTITLE, "VETERAN" MEANS AN INDIVIDUAL WHO SERVED
ON ACTIVE DUTY IN THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language added to
standardize the references to a "veteran" in this
subtitle. This defined term is substituted for the
former references such as "any individual who served
on active duty in time of war, campaign or expedition,
in the Army, Navy or Marine Corps", which was enacted
before the creation of a separate Air Force, and an
individual "who served in the military or naval
forces".

standard introductory language to a definition
section.

(B)  COMMISSION.

"COMMISSION" MEANS THE MARYLAND VETERANS COMMISSION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added to
avoid repetition of the full name "Maryland Veterans
Commission".
