HARRY HUGHES, Governor

1239

(1)  BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RESTORATION AND
PRESERVATION OF THE STATE HOUSE; AND

(2)  DISAPPROVE OR APPROVE AND SUPERVISE:

(I)  ANY PROPOSED REPAIR, IMPROVEMENT, OR OTHER
CHANGE TO THE STATE HOUSE OR TO ANY OTHER BUILDING WITHIN STATE
CIRCLE, INCLUDING ANY CHANGE TO THE FURNISHINGS OR FIXTURES OF
THOSE BUILDINGS; AND

(II)  ANY PROPOSED LANDSCAPING OF THE GROUNDS OF
THOSE BUILDINGS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 41, §
408(a) and (b) and the first clause of § 407(a).

The introductory language of this section, "[i]n
addition to any duties set forth elsewhere," is
standard language added to clarify that the enumerated
duties are not exhaustive.

In item (2) of this section, the duty to "disapprove
or approve and supervise" proposed changes and
landscaping is substituted for the former limitation
that a change or landscaping "be made at the direction
... of the State House Trust", for clarity.

In item (2)(i) of this section, the former, specific
reference to "heating and ventilation systems" is
deleted as unnecessary in light of the broad term
"fixtures".

Also in item (2)(i) of this section, the former word
"carpets" is deleted as unnecessary in light of the
broad reference to "furnishings".

See also Subtitle 6 of this title, as to the
Government House Trust.

Defined terms: "Includes";"including" § 1-101
"Trust" § 9-501
