SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.

CHAPTER 72

(House Bill 1244)

AN ACT concerning

Queen Anne's County -
Alcoholic Beverages - Board of License Commissioners

FOR the purpose of altering the number of members of the Queen
Anne's County Board of License Commissioners; altering the
number of members that are members of a certain political
party; providing for the minimum number of members for a
quorum for transacting business; providing for staggered
terms of office of the additional members; providing that
the adjusted terms are not applicable to the members serving
on the Board on the effective date of this Act; and making
stylistic changes.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

Section 150(d)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1981 Replacement Volume and 1983 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

150.

(d) In Queen Anne's County, the Board of County
Commissioners shall appoint [three] 5 persons, designating [one]
1 of them as chairman, who shall constitute the board of license
commissioners for [said] THE county. At least [one] 2 of [said]
THE persons shall be a member of that political party which, at
the most recent gubernatorial election, shall have received the
second highest number of votes cast in Queen Anne's County for
the office of Governor. They shall be appointed for terms of
[four] 4 years each. In the event that at any time any member of
the board shall refuse or for any reason be unable to serve, the
appointment for the unexpired term shall be made by said Board of
County Commissioners. A QUORUM IS 3 OR MORE MEMBERS FOR PURPOSES
OF TRANSACTING THE BOARD'S BUSINESS. AT LEAST 3 MEMBERS WHO ARE
