(2) THE OFFICE SHALL PROVIDE AND ACCOUNT FOR THESE
PAYMENTS.
(D) REPORT.
(1) AS SOON AFTER THE END OF EACH FISCAL YEAR AS
PRACTICABLE, THE OFFICE SHALL SUBMIT A REPORT TO THE PRESIDENT
AND THE SPEAKER.
(2) THE REPORT SHALL CONTAIN, SEPARATELY FOR THE
SENATE AND THE HOUSE:
(I) THE NAME OF AND NATURE OF SERVICE PROVIDED
BY EACH PERSON TO WHOM PAYMENT OR ALLOWANCE OF EXPENSES HAS BEEN
MADE; OR
(II) THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH THE PAYMENT HAS BEEN
MADE.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 40, §
62(c) and the second and third sentences and the last
phrase of the first sentence of (a).
Subsections (b)(1) and (c)(1) of this section are
revised to clarify that the Office provides both
reimbursement to members and payments. Former Art.
40, § 62(a) could be read to allow only reimbursement
of members "for legislative expenses ...", or either
reimbursement or payments. This revision is supported
by subsection (d)(2)(i) of this section, which
requires the report to state "the name ... of each
person to whom payment or allowance ... has been
made".
In subsection (c)(1) of this section, the former
reference to "other similar items" is deleted as
unnecessary in light of the use of the defined term
"including".
In subsection (d)(2)(i) of this section, the reference
to the "name of and nature of service provided by" is
substituted for the former phrase "names and official
character or service", for clarity.
