PART III. LEGISLATIVE SECURITY FORCE.
2-1414. LEGISLATIVE SECURITY FORCE.

(A)  "FORCE" DEFINED.

IN THIS SECTION, "FORCE" MEANS THE LEGISLATIVE SECURITY
FORCE.

(B)  ESTABLISHED.

THERE IS A LEGISLATIVE SECURITY FORCE.

(C)  COMPOSITION.

THE FORCE CONSISTS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE MARYLAND STATE
POLICE WHO ARE ASSIGNED FOR DUTY WITH THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

(D)  RESPONSIBILITIES.

UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF THE PRESIDING OFFICERS OF THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY, THE FORCE SHALL MAINTAIN ORDER DURING THE CONDUCT OF
THE LEGISLATIVE PROCESS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is new
language added to avoid repetition of the full title
"Legislative Security Force".

Subsections (b) through (d) of this section are new
language derived without substantive change from
former Art. 40, § 103.

In subsection (d) of this section, the duty to
"maintain order during the conduct of the legislative
process" is substituted for the former reference to
"orderly maintenance of the legislative processes",
for clarity.

PART I. PREPARATION, INTRODUCTION, AND CONSIDERATION.

2-1501. "BILL" DEFINED.

IN THIS PART I OF THIS SUBTITLE, "BILL" INCLUDES A JOINT
RESOLUTION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language added to avoid
repetition of the phrase "bill or joint resolution"
and to clarify the former references to a "bill" that
clearly applied to both a bill and a joint resolution.
