Ch. 284

STAFF OF THE OFFICE SHALL BE APPOINTED JOINTLY BY THE
PRESIDENT AND THE SPEAKER.

(C) REMOVAL.

(1)  SUBJECT TO THE HEARING REQUIREMENTS OF THIS
SUBSECTION, THE PRESIDENT AND THE SPEAKER JOINTLY MAY REMOVE AN
INDIVIDUAL FROM THE STAFF FOR CAUSE.

(2)  BEFORE THE PRESIDENT AND THE SPEAKER REMOVE AN
INDIVIDUAL UNDER THIS SUBSECTION, THEY SHALL GIVE THE INDIVIDUAL
NOTICE AND AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A HEARING.

without substantive change from former Art. 40, §
62(b) and the fourth sentence of (a).

2-1411. FUNCTIONS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

THE OFFICE IS A STAFF AGENCY OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY UNDER
THE GENERAL SUPERVISION AND CONTROL OF THE PRESIDENT AND THE
SPEAKER.

(B)  REIMBURSEMENTS.
THE OFFICE SHALL:

(1)  RECEIVE AND ANALYZE REQUESTS FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF
MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY; AND

(2)  PROVIDE AND ACCOUNT FOR THIS REIMBURSEMENT FROM
THE. GENERAL LEGISLATIVE EXPENSES PROGRAM IN THE STATE BUDGET.

(C)  PAYMENTS.

(1) THE OFFICE SHALL RECEIVE AND ANALYZE REQUESTS FOR
PAYMENT OF LEGISLATIVE EXPENSES, INCLUDING:

(I)  OFFICE RENT;

(II)  SECRETARIAL AND OTHER SERVICES;

(III)  TELEPHONE AND OTHER COMMUNICATION
EXPENSES;

(IV)  EQUIPMENT;

(V)  SUPPLIES; AND

(VI)  TRAVEL.
