HARRY HUGHES, Governor

1073

In subsection (a) of this section, the former
references to "death" are deleted as unnecessary in
light of the broad references to being "unable to
attend".

In subsection (b)(l)(ii) of this section, the

reference to the Standard State Travel Regulations is

substituted for the former, specific "rate of ten

cents per mile", which was set by Ch. 400, Acts of
1884.

Defined terms: "House" § 2-101
"Senate" § 2-101

2-1406.      RESERVED.

2-1407.     RESERVED.

PART II.      LEGISLATIVE ACCOUNTING OFFICE.

2-1408.      "OFFICE" DEFINED.

IN THIS PART II OF THIS SUBTITLE, "OFFICE" MEANS THE
LEGISLATIVE ACCOUNTING OFFICE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language added to avoid
repetition of the full title "Legislative Accounting
Office".

2-1409. ESTABLISHED.

THERE IS A LEGISLATIVE ACCOUNTING OFFICE IN THE LEGISLATIVE
BRANCH OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the first and second
clauses of the first sentence of former Art. 40, §
62(a).

It is set forth as a separate section for emphasis.

The reference to the "Legislative Branch of the State
government" is substituted for the former, archaic
reference to the "Legislative Department", to
standardize references to the branches of the State
government.

2-1410. STAFF.

(A) IN GENERAL.

THE OFFICE SHALL HAVE THE STAFF DETERMINED BY THE PRESIDENT
AND THE SPEAKER AND PROVIDED IN THE STATE BUDGET.

(B) APPOINTMENT.
