2-1405. ATTENDANCE OF OFFICERS OF PRECEDING GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

(A)  REQUIRED ATTENDANCE.

WHEN THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETS, THE FOLLOWING OFFICERS OF
THE PRECEDING GENERAL ASSEMBLY SHALL BE PRESENT:

(1)  FROM THE SENATE:

(I)  THE SECRETARY OR, IF THE SECRETARY IS
UNABLE TO ATTEND, THE JOURNAL CLERK; AND

(II)  THE DOORKEEPER OR, IF THE DOORKEEPER IS
UNABLE TO ATTEND, THE ASSISTANT DOORKEEPER; AND

(2)  FROM THE HOUSE:

(I)  THE CHIEF CLERK OR, IF THE CHIEF CLERK IS
UNABLE TO ATTEND, THE JOURNAL CLERK;

(II)  THE READING CLERK; AND

(III)  THE DOORKEEPER OR, IF THE DOORKEEPER IS
UNABLE TO ATTEND, THE ASSISTANT DOORKEEPER.

(B)  COMPENSATION.

(1)  EACH OFFICER WHO, UNDER THIS SECTION, IS REQUIRED
TO BE PRESENT IS ENTITLED TO:

(I)  5 DAYS' PER DIEM COMPENSATION; AND

(II)  MILEAGE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STANDARD
STATE TRAVEL REGULATIONS.

(2)  OTHER OFFICERS OF A PRECEDING GENERAL ASSEMBLY
ARE NOT REQUIRED TO BE PRESENT UNDER THIS SECTION AND MAY NOT BE
PAID FOR THEIR ATTENDANCE.
