LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 284

The word "places" is added to conform to similar
provisions as to meetings.

The second sentence of former Art. 40, § 93, which
provided for reimbursement of expenses, is deleted as
unnecessary in light of the general provisions for
compensation and to avoid the unintended implication
that reimbursement of the members of this Committee
differs from the general provisions.

Defined term: "Committee" § 2-801

2-806. FUNCTIONS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

THE COMMITTEE HAS THE FUNCTION TO REVIEW THE INVESTMENT AND
MANAGEMENT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES:

(1)  OF THE TREASURER WITH RESPECT TO STATE FUNDS IN
THE STATE TREASURY;

(2)  OF ANY OFFICER OR UNIT WITH RESPECT TO STATE
FUNDS THAT ARE NOT IN THE STATE TREASURY AND ARE NOT UNDER THE
JURISDICTION OF A RETIREMENT SYSTEM; AND

(3)  OF LOCAL GOVERNMENTS WITH RESPECT TO PUBLIC
FUNDS.

(B)  REPORT.

SUBJECT TO § 2-1312 OF THIS TITLE, ON OR BEFORE THE 1ST DAY
OF EACH REGULAR SESSION, THE COMMITTEE SHALL SUBMIT AN ANNUAL
REPORT TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY ON ANY RECOMMENDATIONS AS TO THE
OFFICE OF TREASURER.

(C)  LIMITATION ON COMMITTEE.

THE FUNCTION AND AUTHORITY OF THE TREASURER AS A MEMBER OF
THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS ARE NOT SUBJECT TO THE REVIEW OF THE
COMMITTEE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 40, §§ 94
through 96.

In subsection (a)(2) of this section, the reference to
"any officer or unit" is added to clarify the policies
and procedures to be reviewed.

Defined term: "Committee" § 2-801

2-807. SUBPOENAS; OATHS; TESTIMONY; DEPOSITIONS.
