certain faculty search committee to fill certain faculty vacancies; providing for
the composition of the faculty search committee prohibiting more than a certain
number of members of the Board of Trustees from being included on certain
search committees; altering the amount of money provided by Baltimore City to
the College; requiring certain reports; requiring the Board of Trustees and the
President to develop and implement an independent system for hearing faculty
grievances; requiring a certain system to include the use of a certain
independent body that is not affiliated with certain entities to hear certain
grievances and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees; requiring the
Board of Trustees to adopt certain regulations; making certain technical
corrections; and generally relating to the governance of Baltimore City
Community College.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Education
16-502.
(b) "Board of Trustees" means the Board of Trustees of Baltimore City
Community College.
(c) "College" means Baltimore City Community College, formerly known as
the New Community College of Baltimore.
16-505.
(b) (1) The Board of Trustees shall exercise general control [and
management of] OVER the College and establish [policies] BROAD POLICY AND
LONG-RANGE PLANNING to effect the efficient operation of the College,
