884 Partys concerned for whom the Said Comission was Granted to be at the said Land with their Evidences upon Fryday the fifth Instant June and all Partys being there wee tooke the following Deposition &c.a Queen Anns County fs The Deposition of George Cowley of Talbott County in the Province of Maryland Gent Aged Eighty one Years or thereabouts being duly sworne Concerning the second Tree of a Tract of Land called Old Towne deposes upon his said oath that the Said second Tree is a Redd oake (which said Oake he there shewed laying his hand thereon) standing upon a point of Land bounded by the River Choptank and near to it where the Runn of a Deep Branch formerly called Old Towne Branch but of Late Lows Branch) falls into the said River the Said Tree having been formerly Notched (Viz.t forty Eight Years agoe or thereabouts as this Deponent averrs) with Three or more Notches on the west side (only) of said Tree; which to us and the Company present in part appeared so And further saith not John Bullen Taken and Certified by us y.e afd 5.th day of John Sherwood June in y.e 12.th year of the Reigne of her Ma.ty Queen Anne and in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirteen |
