       whereas Cæcillius ab late absolute Lord & Proprietary of      
       the provinces of Maryland and Avalon of Noble Memory did
       by his Deed or patent under his great.r Seale at Armes bearing
       the 17.th day of Feb.ry in the Year of our Lord 1661 did give and grant unto
       John Hall by the Name of John Hall Assignee of Thomas Marsh Merch.t
       a Certain Tract or parcell of Land called Marshes Seat lying in Ann Ard.ll
       County afd and Containing one hundred and fifty acres (More or less)
       and whereas John Hall this Compl.t son and heir of the said John
       Hall Assignee of Thomas Marsh did by a Certain Indenture under his
       hand and seale dated the 13.th day of June 1681 Convey & make over
       the said Tract of land called Marshes Seat unto Thomas Knighton
       father of the above Named Thomas Knighton and To his heires who by
       his last will and Testament dated the 12.th day of August 1684 devised
       the same Tract or parcell of Land to his Eldest Son Thomas Knighton
       above Named and the heires Males of his body Lawfully to be begotten
       to the Tenth Son and for lack of such Issue to his Daughter Millicent
       Knighton and her heires forever which said Millicent dyed in her
       Minority without Issue which said Tract of parcell of Land is lying
       and being in herring Creek in Ann Arundell County afd on the West
       side of Cheasepeak Bay and on the west side of Herring Creek afd near
       a Creek called the West Creek Beginning at a Brach of the said West
       Creek called Parkers Branch and Running North from a Marked [illegible]  
       by the Creek side to a Cove for the Length of seaventy five perches to a
       Marked white oake bounding on the North with a Line drawne West
       and by North from the said oak for the Length of three hundred & Twenty
       Perches on the                  with a line drawne south from the West & by
       North Line for the Length of seventy five perches on the south with
       a Line drawne East from the End of the said South Line unto the head
       of Parkers Branch and with the said Branch on the West with
       said Creek containing and then laid out for one hundred & fifty acres
