812 John Hall This cause standing for Tryal and v the partys and their att.rys being ready Christopher Vernon for tryall the bill and ans.r with the Depositions both sides were read the Bill and Answ.r follows Viz.t Maryland fs To his Excy John Seymour Esq Cap.t Generall & Govern.r in Cheif of the Province of Maryland and keeper of the Great Seale thereof In all humble Manner Complaining sheweth unto your Excy that your dayly orat.r John Hall of Baltemore County many years since being possessed in fee of a Certain Tract of Land lying near Herring Creek in Ann Arundell County called Marshes Seat containing 150 Acres according to the survey Expressed in the originall patent & beleiveing there was some Vacant Land of which he was likewise Possest & supposed to be within the bounds of the said Patent thô not really Included therein and also that there was a pretty Quantity of Vacant Land Adjacent and Contiguous to the Said Tract of Marshes Seat he procured Lawfull warrants made survey and had the Lord proprietors Grant for the same by the Name of Gadshill Containing one hundred & forty acres more or less and being sometime before the Year of our Lord god 1682 Desireous to goe and live in Baltemore County for the Conveniency of Range and the oppertunity of takeing up fresh woodland Ground your said orat.r sold both the said Two Tracts afd Called Marshes Seat and Gadd Hill To a Certain Thomas Knighton then of Ann Arundell County Gent.n & his heires for ever which said Thomas Knighton by his last will & Testament remaining upon Recordin the Comissary Generalls Office for probatt of Wills and now Confirmed by An Act of the Gen.ll Assembly of this province in full force and [illegible] |
