             Depositions taken on behalf of John Brooke touch the
             bounds of a Tract of Land called Brooke Adventure

                      By Virtue of a Comission out of the high Court of Chan.ry
       Bearing Date at the City of Annapolis the Sixth day of March in the
       Ninth Year of her Majestys Reigne Annoq Dm 1710 Directed to us Robert
       Skinner John Mackall and Daniel of S.t Thomas Jenifer or any two
       of us to Examin Evidences Touching the bounds of a parcell of Land Laid
       out for one William Chaplain in Calvert County the Said Land being in
       Dispute Between Edward Boteler Lessee of Margarett and Priscilla Feilds
       Plantiff and Gilbert Deavor Defendant &c.a

             These are therefore to Certify in humble manner to Certify that Wee Jn.o
       Mackall and Dan.l of S.t Thomas Jenifer Comissioners above Nominated have
       Called before us upon the Land above mentioned M.r Raphael Haywood of S.t
       Mary's County and Rebecca Noakes of Calvert County and taken their Dep.o
       and Reduced the same into Writing under their hands which are hereunto
       annext this 5.th day of Aprill Anno Dm 1711

       The Deposition of Raphael Haywood aged seaventy years or thereabouts
       Who Declares upon the holy Evangelist that when he the said Depon.t was in
       Possession of the one Moyety and upper part of that Tract of Land Laid out for
       William Chaplen Comonly knowne by the name of Champlens Land the Depon.t
       Saith that one William Pritchett to the best of his Remembrance shewed him
       the said Deponent a Redd oake which stood near to the said Pritchetts house
       and the said Deponent saith that the Said Pritchett told him that was Chaplens
       bounded Tree and some time after the said Deponent heard that the said Tree
       was Cutt downe and the Stump Grubbed up and tree and Stump Carryed away in
       the night and the Said Deponent Saith that he knows not now the place
       where the said Tree nor house did stand ^But that the Said Tree nor house did not stand^ in or near any apple orchard  And
