666) Sweatnam that the said Judgement or any part thereof was ever paid by the said Robert Smith Esq.r to the said Sweatnam or any other for his use in his life time or to any other since his death Answ.r Wee neither of us know any thing of the payment of the said debt either to us or any other person nor doe his Bookes or any other papers w.ch wee or either of us have seen shew the payments of that Judgm.t either by Robert Smith Esq.r or any other person Will Coursey + John Hawkins + Depositions taken for George Bower Concerning a Tract of Land Called Sallop Maryland fs.t May y.e 16.th 1710 By Virtue of a Comission to us Directed from her Maj.tys high Court of Chancery bearing Date the Sixteenth day of March Annoq Dm 1709 for for Examining of Evidences touching the bounds of a Tract of Land called Sallop lying in Talbott County on a branch of Tuckahoe creek called Colebarnes branch which Land was formerly surveyed for one Thomas Price & is now in possession of one Benjamin Parrott These may humbly Certify that at y.e Instance of George Bowes of Talbott County at whose prayer the Said Comission was Granted Wee Called before us the following Deponants who at an old bounded Pokickary standing (thô now dead) in the woods about the Root whereof is now Cast up a mount or Bank of Earth for a Memoriall) did make Answer to the following Questions to them them proposed as followeth having first taken their Corporall oaths on the holy Evangelist to the truth of what they should Declare First Henry Eylor Qu first Did you know Thomas Price who was the taker up of this Land called Sallop reputed to be bounded & by whom bounded An.r 2 About twenty Years past my then Master John Wooters shewed me this Tree & told me it was a bounded Tree of Thomas Prices Land and alsoe told me that he shewd or Directed y.e said Thomas Price the Land when he first tooke it up I often have seen this Tree land but never heard that it belonged to any other Land and further I know not Second Richard Wootors Qu first Did you know Thomas Price who took up this Land called Sallop Ans.r 1.st Yes Very well |
