Anthony Rumball answerd upon his oath said I doe know
       the plt and Defendant

I came by the knowledge that M.r Forbes had hired the five man boat
from the said Forbes owne words and a receipt given as Attorney
of Edward Robinson at the foot of said M.r Lows letter to the said
Robinson the five man boat by report was reckoned to carry Thirty
hhds  And to the best of my remembrance the Complt was to pay
for her hire the same rate that Cap.t Owen Phillips had paid before
which as I cann alsoe remember was five pounds odd money but
       doe not remember the odd

M.r Forbes did pmise to Carry the sd boat to M.r Lowe in Choptank
river after he carryed his salt to Kent because had
goods to bring from thence and would there agree with
M.r Lowe for the further hire

M.r Forbes did not send the said vessell to great Choptank to
said M.r Lowe after he had recd her at Wye Towne but the said
Vessell did rott at Wye Towne

I know of no orders given by said Lowe to any person for
receiving the said boat nor was I Agent for said Lowe

I wrote said Lowe a letter to acquaint him of the said boat being
kept at Wye Towne Whether the sd letter Came to hand I know
not of certaine but to the best of my remembrance said Lowe
some tyme after told me he had received that letter

It was not by my order from the said Lowe that I delivered to Edward
Russell a paire of shooes and a Dollar to looke after and pump
the said Vessell but because I had wrote to the said Lowe and
for fear the said Vessell should sinck I delivered the shooes &c
To keep her above water untill I had received an answer from
       said Low

Unto the freshes of Wye river I believe the said Vessell might
have beene Carryed but not to Choptanke

Some time after the said boat was returned from Kent as I remember
in August Court following I came to Wye Towne and
then did see the sd boat drove over to Bruffs Island and there
       sunck

Edward Russell was Skipper a saylor and James Stuard had formerly
used the seas the rest are planters
