490 nor Southward but if any way to the Westward nearer the River all which he Declared upon Oath and further yo.r Deponant saith not Daniel Connell William Tannehill Aged fourty Nine years or there abouts being sworn before us upon the Holy Evangelist saith that Coll.o Jn.o Addison having obtained a Comcon from the high Court of Chancery bearing date the Eleaventh Day of May 1696 directed to M.r Will.m Hutchison and my self to Examine Cap.t George Thompson of S.t Mary's County and take his Evidence touching the Bounds of M.r Notly Rozers Land Called Admireathorea the beginning bounded Tree thereof being allso the beginning of Coll.o Jn.o Addison's Land called S.t Elizabeath in obedience to w.ch Commission we caused ^the said^ Cap.t George Thompson to come before us upon y.e said land the 27.th day of May 1696 When we went by Water with the said Thompson from Broad Creek up the River to Search for the first bound Tree of the said Two Tracts of Land, he being desirous to go by water because they went by Water when they first took up the Land called Admireathorea and as we was Rowing up Potomack River by the said land Cap.t Thompson caused us to put a shore by the North side of an Ashen Swamp w.ch swamp is the fourth swamp above a high point of Land now known to us by the Name of the hollowing Point and there by the side of the Land swamp in an Indian Field ure found a bounded white Oake w.ch Tree Cap.t George Thompson did declare upon Oath before above Expressed and did positively declare and affirm tat if that was not the ^very^ Tree he was Confident it did stand within Twenty or Twenty five paces of that bounded White Oake and if any way nearer y.e River all w.ch he solemnly declared upon oath and further your Deponant saith not Will.m Tannehill Jn.o Norris Jun.r Aged Twenty two years or thereabouts being sworn before us upon the Holy Evangelist saith That Coll.o Jn.o Addison having obtained a Comission out of the high Court of Chancery to sumons Cap.t George Thompson to give his Evidence to the Bounds of a Tract of land called Admireathorea now belonging to M.r Notly Rozer but first Taken up by the said Cap.t George Thompson who being brought there an Evidence y.e 23.d Day of June 1702 my self with sev.rall others was p.rsent at a bounded white oake that standeth near an Ashen Swamp in an Indian Field w.ch swamp is the fourth swamp above a high point of Land now known and called by the Name of hollowing Point |
