Testimony of Ralph Elston sen.r &c who were sumoned & appeared as Evidences
before James Murphey & Hugh Sherwood on behalf of W.m Worrilow of
Talbot County touching y.e Land called Rays Point
    Talbot ss
       James Murphey & Hugh Sherwood two of his Majesties
       Justices of y.e peace for y.e County aforesaid Gent in obedience
       to a Comission directed to us from y.e high Court of Chancery of
       this province bearing date y.e 10.th day of Novemb.r 1696 in
       pursuance of y.e s.d Comission both repaired to y.e tract of Land
       called Rays Point cont 150 Acres of Land & that upon y.e
       19.th day of Feb.ry 1696 having afore given notice to all Parties
       concerned therein did meet with one Ralph Elston sen.r
       who being a Quaker would not swear upon wch did tender
       him y.e Test upon wch he did solemnly declare upon y.e
       same after he had brought us to y.e first bounded tree of y.e s.d
       Land it being an old Cedar tree blown up by y.e roots y.e s.d tree
       being within a branch of a Creek called Broad Creek & on the
       North east side of y.e s.d branch then y.e s.d Elston shewed us
       where he bounded y.e second bounded tree wch was as near as
       could guess about 30 yards within a Cove Shutting in from y.e
       Eastermost branch of aforesaid Broad Creek & on y.e west side
       of y.e s.d Cove & for want of Authority in our Comission did
       omit of marking any Tree where he shewed us y.e second
       bound tree was which he did affirm he marked with his
       own hands & Likewise y.e first bounded tree (& farther y.e
       s.d Elston saith not)  In witness whereto We have hereunto
       set our hands & seals y.e day & year aforesaid          (loc)
