335) said two thousand five hundred Acres of Land first to be laid out & surveyd for Me y.e s.d George Thompson viewing and searching up & down y.e s.d Land & River for y.e first bound tree of y.e s.d two thousand five hundred acres of Land And finding by an Asshen Swamp a bounded white Oak which Oak I will not cannot nor dare upon Oath Affirm to be y.e very Oak was bounded for y.e first bound tree of y.e s.d two thousand five hundred Acres of Land And consequently the first bound tree of y.e s.d John Meeks's Land it being now very near three or four & thirty years since I was upon & caused s.d Land for me to be surveyed but to y.e best of my Memory Judgm.t & Understanding by these presents upon Oath do declare y.t y.e s.d bounded white Oak doth stand Within twenty or thirty paces where y.e first bounded oak of y.e s.d two thousand five hundred Acres of Land did stand to y.e best of my Memory & knowledg I being hereunto confirmed by y.e Memory I both now retain of y.e s.d Asshen Swamp & y.e thereunto adjacent ground Which s.d Asshen Swamp is by y.e River side & third swamp above a great high point by y.e River side on y.e s.d two thousand five hundred Acres of land & comonly known & called by y.e name of y.e hollowing point To y.e verily & truth hereupon & have given my oath & here unto do set my hand & fix my seal this 27.th day of May An° 1696 This to be y.e truth & y.e whole George Thompson (loc) truth to y.e best of my knowledg & Memory Juravit coram Me Will Tannehill This is a true Record (according to y.e Original Will Hutchison papers filed in y.e Chancery office) & here entered by Me John Freeman Regist.r in Chanc.ry |
