334) Upon a Petition offered by Coll John Addison of Prince Georges County Comission was issued to William Hutchison & Will.m Tannyhill Gentlemen Justices of y.e said County dated y.e 11.th day of May 1696 comanding them to take y.e Depositions George Thompson of S.t Maries County Gentl touching y.e begining bound Tree of Two thousand five hundred Acres of Land sold by y.e said Thompson to Coll Benj.a Rozier which was also y.e bounded Tree of John Meeks The Release In obedience Whereunto We have this day called before Us y.e said George Thompson Who coming upon y.e s.d 2500 Acres of Land did upon Oath deliver y.e within written deposition under his hand & seal In Witness whereof We have hereunto set our hands & Seals this 27.th day of May 1696 Will Hutchison (loc) (Sigil) Will Tannehill (loc) (Sigill) To all persons who at present are or hereafter may be to & with these presents concerned Greeting in our Lord God everlasting Know Ye y.t I George Tompson of S.nt Maries County in y.e province of Maryland Gentl in obedience to a Precept to Me directed out of y.e Chancery Office Sold at y.e port of Annapolis dated y.e eleventh day of May An° 1696 Signed by John Freeman Regist.r in Chancery & sealed with y.e seal of y.e s.d Office comanding Me y.e s.d George Thompson all excuses set apart to make my personall appearance before Will.m Hutchinson & Will Tannyhill Justices of Prince Georges County in y.e province of Maryland to testifie before them upon oath y.e truth of My knowledg touching y.e begining place & first bound tree of y.e Two thousand five hundred Acres of Land formerly sold to Coll Benjamin Rozier now lying being & situated in y.e s.d Prince Georges County y.e s.d tree & place of begining y.e survey of y.e s.d two thousand five hundred Acres of Land being also the tree & begining place of y.e survey of a parcel of Land of One John Meeks do hereby declare y.t this 27.th day of May An° 1696 I y.e s.d George Thompson went upon y.e said two thousand five hundred Acres of Land & at y.e Landing of George Athy took boat & went from thence down S.nt Philips Creek to a marked Cedar at y.e Month of y.e s.d Creek on y.e s.d 2500 Acres & thence went up y.e River by Water because I went by water when I caused y.e said |
