                         After y.e reading of y.e bill & answer The depositions of Coll
                         Casparus Herman George Oldfield Alexand.r Cambell John
                         Hyland & Joseph Moore & Owen Howes were likewise read
                         in open Court  And after long debate on both sides it was orderd &
                         Decreed by y.e Court That y.e Lands in Dispute should be restored
                         to M.r W.m Dare y.e Deft & y.t Tho Kersey y.e Complt should be
                         acquitted from y.e whole Rent and y.t y.e Deft shall pay y.e said
                         Complt one thousand pds tob for 3 wares by y.e s.d Complt made
                         for y.e s.d Deft & y.t y.e s.d Def.t shall also repay five hundred
                         sixty two pds of tob y.t was paid to y.e s.d Deft by John Sequence on
                         y.e accompt of y.e s.d Complt  Also y.t y.e Deft shall be dismist
                         with reasonable Cost

The Decree
                         Whereas heretofore (y.t is to say y.e 20.th day of July 1693)
                         Thomas Kersey of Cæcill County plant.r did exhibit his
                         Bill of Complt in this Hon.ble Court ag.st W.m Dare of y.e s.d
                         County Gent  Thereby setting forth y.t whereas upon Comunication
                         had about 7 years before between y.e s.d Complt & Deft
                         concerning a tract of land whereof y.e s.d Deft was seized in
                         his Demesn as of Fee lying & being at y.e head of Elk River
                         opposite to y.e land of Coll George Talbott y.e s.d W.m Dare did
                         agree by good Conveyance in law to sell & make over y.e s.d
                         p.rmisses to y.e s.d Complt his heirs & assignes forever  In Consideration
                         of y.e sum of 5000. tob to be paid by y.e s.d Complt to y.e s.d
                         Deft as in y.e s.d bill is set forth  And whereas y.e s.d Dare y.e Deft
                         did thereupon invest y.e s.d Complt with y.e possesion of y.e p.rmisses
                         who hath ever since enjoyed y.e same & emproved thereupon
                         & paid 2000. tob in part of y.e s.d 5000 & hath tendered y.e rest of
                         y.e s.d tob to y.e s.d Deft  And whereas y.e s.d Deft hath refused to receive
                         y.e s.d Remainder of y.e tob & delayed & denyed to make assurance
                         or Conveyance of y.e p.rmisses to y.e s.d Complt & threatened
                         to eject him contrary to y.e agreem.t afd  And whereas y.e s.d Comp.lt
                         therefore prayed their Maj.ties Writt of Subpa to be directed to y.e said
                         Dare to oblige him to answer to y.e s.d bill of Complt  And
                         whereas y.e s.d Dare in his answer to y.e s.d bill declareth
                         upon oath y.t altho he did offer to sell to y.e s.d Kersey y.e said
                         tract of land for 5000. of tob to be paid imediatly which y.e
                         s.d Kersey proposed to pay in cattle yet did not y.e s.d Kersey
                         pay any at all to y.e s.d Dare & thereupon at y.e Request of y.e s.d
