282 At their Ma.ties High Court of Chancery held for the province of Maryland the at the Citty of S.t Maryes the 23 day of August in the Fifth yeare of their Ma.ties Reign &c Annoq Dni 1693 Present The Hon.ble Nehemiah Blakistone Chiefe Judge in Equity The Hon.ble Nicholas Greenberry Esq.r John Addison Esq.r Justices Thomas Brookes Esq.r Edward Sannders & his wife plts & Rob.t Thompson & his wife & others Deft Whereas heretofore that is to say upon the First day of January in the yeare of our Lord One Thousand six hundred Eighty and Eight Edward Sannders of Charles County and Jane his wife one of the Daughters of John Ocane ^late^ of the same County Dec.d and Relict and Administratrix of Henry Brayne dec.d did exhibite their BIll of Revivor unto this Courte against Robert Thompson of the same County and Mary his wife Executrix of the last Will and Testament of Giles Blizard Merchant dec.d her former husband and Susanna Blizard Daughter and heir of the Giles said Giles and Susanna his wife the other Daughter of the said John Ocane an Infant by the said Robert and Mary her Guardians Defts Thereby setting forth that the said Complainants did formerly Exhibite their Bill ag.t the said John Ocane and Giles Bllizard shewing That in January 1681 there was a Communicacon betweene the Comp.lt Edward and the said John Ocane touching the Complain.ts marriage and Ocane to induce the plt to marry his Daughter did not only promise forthwith to settle on the plt in the p.rsent possession a Moiety of all his Lands Goods Stock and houshold stuff to them and their heirs and Assignes for ever But did alsoe insiminate to the plt that his said Daughter had of her own prop Estate left her by her husband Brayne a Considerable Estate in Negroe Money Goods and Merchandizes then in the possion of the said John Ocane for his Daughters use cleare of all Debts of Brayes other than such Debts as the said Ocane was obliged and promised to discharge out of his own prop Estate haveing rec.d sufficient effects wherewith to pay the same & that as he had the managem.t of her Estate dureing her Nonage & Widdowhood if the Marriage took effect he would give the plt a just account thereof and satisfaccon for the same And thereupon the said John Ocane pretending himself to be seized in Fee of three parcells of Land called Comes purchase conteyning by seven hundred acres Bourlands conteyning one Thousand acres and Jericks conteyning Two hundred and Fifty acres all lying in Charles County afores.d he the said John Ocane did by Writeing under his hand and seale bearing date the twelfth day of January 1683 make this Memorand.m That he the said Ocane |
