SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Health - General
7-101.
(g) (1) "Facility" means any public or private place with a
day, residential, or other program, clinic, or hospital that
provides or purports to provide treatment for mentally retarded
OR NONRETARDED DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED individuals.
(2) "Facility" does not include a Veterans'
Administration hospital.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s)
7-101(k) through (n), respectively, of Article - Health
General, of the Annotated Code of Maryland be renumbered to be
Section(s) 7-101(1) through (o), respectively.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:
Article - Health - General
7-101.
(K) NONRETARDED DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED INDIVIDUAL MEANS
AN INDIVIDUAL WHOSE DISABILITY:
(1) IS ATTRIBUTABLE TO CEREBRAL PALSY, EPILEPSY,
AUTISM, DYSLEXIA, OR ANY OTHER NEUROLOGICAL MALFUNCTION OR
DISORDER;
(2) CAN BE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE INDEFINITELY; AND
(3) IS A SUBSTANTIAL HANDICAP TO THE ABILITY OF THE
INDIVIDUAL TO FUNCTION NORMALLY IN SOCIETY.
