CHAPTER 64
(Senate Bill 538)
AN ACT concerning
Reorganization of State Government -
Labor Employment and Training
FOR the purpose of establishing a Department of Labor, Employment
and Training within the Executive Branch; transferring
certain employment security, training, and placement
functions performed by the Department of Human Resources and
its constituent agencies, including the Employment Security
Administration, and the Training and Employment Office and
other units implementing the Federal Comprehensive
Employment and Training Act to the Department; transferring
certain employment training functions performed by the
Department of Licensing and Regulation, including the
Apprenticeship and Training Council, to the Department;
abolishing the Employment Security Administration; deleting
certain obsolete language and correcting certain terminology
relative to those units; generally relating to the creation
of the Department of Labor, Employment and Training and the
reorganization of State government to implement the creation
of the principal department; making provisions of this Act
severable; and providing for the termination of certain
provisions of this Act subject to the provisions of the
Program Evaluation Act.
