Landlord-Tenant Affairs to impose a monetary fine payable to
Montgomery County if a fine is established by the statute being
enforced by the Commission; Section 29-43, title "Commission
action when violation of Chapter or defective tenancy found" to
increase amount of actual damages which can be ordered by the
Commission on Landlord-Tenant Affairs, and to allow the
Commission to award attorney's fees in cases of retaliatory
evictions.
Effective Date May 7, 1981.

BILL NO. 50-80
AN ACT to amend Chapter 29, title "Fair Landlord-Tenant
Relations" of the Montgomery County Code,. 1972, as amended, by
repealing and reenacting with amendments Section 29-30C, title
"Tenants' Rights" and to establish a new subsection 29-30D, title
"Reduction in service or equipment", to detail the manner by
which a rental facility shall transfer responsibility for utility
payments to the tenants at the facility.
Effective Date May 8, 1981.

BILL NO. 51-80
AN EMERGENCY ACT to amend Chapter 11A, title "Condominiums"
of the Montgomery County Code, 1972, as amended, by repealing and
reenacting with amendments Section 11A-5A, title "Leaseholds
extending beyond notice of termination", to extend leaseholds for
elderly and handicapped tenants for 720 days from the date of
notice of intent to convert to condominium and to make the
provision apply to any property which has not filed a condominium
regime as of October 28, 1980; Section 11A-7, title "Notice to
tenants of status conversion, right of tenants to terminate
lease", to require that the developer notify the Office of
Consumer Affairs of the establishment of the condominium regime.
Effective Date December 5, 1980.
