COUNTY LOCAL LAWS
introduction shall fail, unless two-thirds of the members of the
Council shall extend the deadline for another thirty days; and
submitting this amendment to the qualified voters of Howard
County for their acceptance or rejection in accordance with
Section 1001 of the Howard County Charter. Adopted August 2, 1982.
Resolution No. 123 RESOLUTION proposing to amend Article II "The Legislative
Branch," Section 212 "County Auditor" to provide that the
financial audit required to be prepared by the County Auditor
shall be submitted to the Council and to the County Executive not
later than four months after the close of the fiscal year; and
that the report required to be included with the financial audit
shall be published in at least one newspaper of general
circulation in the county; and submitting this amendment to the
qualified voters of Howard County for their acceptance or
rejection in accordance with Section 1001 of the Howard County
Charter. Adopted August 2, 1982.
Resolution No. 124 RESOLUTION proposing to amend Article V "Appeal Boards,"
Section 501(a) "Appointment; term; compensation," to provide that
members of the Board of Appeals shall serve overlapping terms of
five years and that no member shall be reappointed after having served eight consecutive years immediately prior to reappointment; and submitting this amendment to the qualified
voters of Howard County for their acceptance or rejection in
accordance with Section 1001 of the Howard County Charter. Adopted August 2, 1982.
Resolution No. 125 RESOLUTION proposing to amend Article VI "Budgetary and
Fiscal Procedures," Section 602 "Comprehensive scope of budget,"
to provide that, prior to submitting the proposed County budget
to the Council, the Executive shall hold at least one public
hearing thereon, and to provide that notice of the time and place
of the hearing shall be published once a week for two successive
weeks in at least one newspaper of general circulation in the
county; and submitting this amendment to the qualified voters of
