utility extensions"; to provide for a new Department of Utilities
to be responsible for the County water and wastewater utilities
and to provide a Director of Utilities as the Department's
administrator; to transfer to the Director and the Department of
Utilities certain functions, duties and powers of the Director
and the Department of Public Works; to require that the
Department of Utilities shall maintain HAVE MAINTAINED its own
accounting system; to conform certain cross-references and make
certain technical, stylistic and organizational changes; to
remove certain obsolete and unnecessary language; to generally
provide for a Department of Utilities, its director, and their
functions, duties and powers; to provide for a delayed effective
date of July 1, 1983 for these amendments; and to submit these
amendments to the qualified voters of Anne Arundel County,
Maryland for their adoption or rejection. Approved August 2, 1982.
Bill No. 86-82 AN ORDINANCE pursuant to proposals of the Anne Arundel
County Charter Revision Commission, to amend the Charter of Anne
Arundel County, Maryland, by repealing and reenacting, with
amendments, Article VII, "Budgetary and Fiscal Procedures",
Section 717(b), "Enterprise Accounting"; to remove the
requirement that, as to the accounting system used for County
utilities, the expenses of each utility include any taxes that
did not actually accrue but that would have accrued had the
utility not been County owned; to remove the requirement that the
amount of these unaccrued taxes be paid into the general fund; to
amend generally the section of the Charter on "enterprise
accounting" as proposed by the Anne Arundel County Charter
Revision Commission; and to submit these amendments to the
qualified voters of Anne Arundel County, Maryland for their
adoption or rejection. Approved July 6, 1982.
Bill No. 89-82 AN ORDINANCE to repeal and reenact, with amendments, Section
1 of Bill No. 81-67, as last amended by Bill No. 28-82,
legalizing Supplement No. 45, 2-82, to the Anne Arundel County
Code (1967 Edition), as prepared and published by the Municipal
Code Corporation, Tallahassee, Florida, and making it evidence of
the law of Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
