AN ORDINANCE to amend the Charter of Anne Arundel County,
Maryland, by repealing and reenacting, with amendments, Article
IV, "The County Executive", Section 401, "Nature and Term of
Office, Etc.", to reduce the minimum period for which a person
must be a resident of the County before the person may qualify
for the office of County Executive of Anne Arundel County; and to
submit this amendment to the qualified voters of Anne Arundel
County, Maryland for their adoption or rejection.

AN ORDINANCE to amend the Charter of Anne Arundel County,
Maryland, by adding Section 536A, "Criminal Justice and
Corrections Officer", and Section 536B, "Office of Criminal
Justice and Corrections", SECTION 536C, "SUPERINTENDENT OF
DETENTION FACILITIES", AND SECTION 536D, "OFFICE OF DETENTION
FACILITIES", to Article V, "The Executive Branch"; by repealing
and reenacting, with amendments, Article V, "The Executive
Branch", Section 504, "Director of Administration", Section 544,
"Functions of the Police Department"; to remove from the County
Police Department responsibility for the operation of the
County's detention facility; to establish a new Office of
Criminal Justice and Corrections; to provide for the appointment
of a Criminal Justice and Corrections Officer and for the
administration of the office; to provide for the responsibilities
of the office; including responsibility for the operation and
maintenance of County detention facilities; TO ESTABLISH AN
OFFICE OF DETENTION FACILITIES; TO PROVIDE FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF
A SUPERINTENDENT OF DETENTION FACILITIES AS THE HEAD OF THAT
OFFICE; and to submit these amendments to the qualified voters of
Anne Arundel County, Maryland for their adoption or rejection.
