RESOLUTION
OF THE
MAYOR AND ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF ANNAPOLIS TO
AMEND
THE CITY CHARTER
REPEALING, REPEALING AND RE-ENACTING,
AND ADDING CERTAIN SECTIONS THEREOF
A RESOLUTION of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis, adopted pursuant to the authority of Article XI-E of
the Constitution of the State of Maryland and Article 23A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, to repeal Section 9, 10, 11, 12, 13,
14, 15, and 16 of the Charter of the City of Annapolis; to repeal
and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 1(b), 5, 6 and 31 of said
Charter; to add new Section 5A to said Charter; for the purpose
of altering the dates upon which primary and general municipal
elections are conducted in the City of Annapolis; altering the
dates upon which the terms of office of Mayor and Aldermen and
members of the Board of Supervisors of Election commence and
terminate; requiring the Mayor and Aldermen to provide by
ordinance for the registration of voters and the conduct of
municipal election, including provisions for the casting of
ballots by absentee voters; eliminating certain Charter
provisions relating to the registration of voters and conduct of
municipal elections; and generally relating to a comprehensive
revision of electoral processes within the City of Annapolis.
[Section(s) 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 repealed,
Section 1(b), 5, 6, and 31, repealed and reenacted, with
amendments, and Section 5A added, all of the Charter of the City
of Annapolis, Anne Arundel County.
