LAWS OF MARYLAND
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages
Section 150(c)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1981 Replacement Volume and 1982 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages 150. (c) (1) In Montgomery County, [effective July 1, 1979,] the
board of license commissioners [shall consist] CONSISTS of [five]
5 members, appointed by the county executive, subject to
confirmation by the county council. (2)   [Each member of the board serves a term of 4
years, provided, however, that those members serving on the board
of license commissioners on July 1, 1979, shall serve the
remainder of their terms; any later appointment shall conform to
the above stated length of service.] EXCEPT FOR 3 MEMBERS
APPOINTED IN 1983, THE TERM OF A MEMBER IS 5 YEARS EACH MEMBER OF
THE BOARD SERVES A TERM OF 4 YEARS, EXCEPT THAT THE TERM OF ONE
MEMBER WHO IS APPOINTED OR REAPPOINTED TO FILL ONE OF THE TERMS
EXPIRING IN 1983 SHALL BE FOR 3 YEARS, AND 4 YEARS THEREAFTER. (3)  THE TERMS OF 3 OF THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD
TERMINATE IN 1983. OF THE MEMBERS APPOINTED IN 1983 TO FILL THE
VACANCIES, THE TERM OF THE FIRST MEMBER IS 3 YEARS, THE TERM OF
THE SECOND MEMBER IS 4 YEARS, AND THE TERM OF THE THIRD MEMBER IS
5 YEARS. [(3)](4) Not more than three members of the board
shall be members of the same political party. [(4)] (5) (4) The board annually shall elect one of
its members as chairman. [(5)](6) (5) Three members of the board constitute a
quorum for transacting business. At least three members who are
present at the voting session must concur in the approval,
denial, revocation, suspension, or reclassification of an
alcoholic beverage license.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act may not
be construed to extend or apply to the terms of office of the
members of the Montgomery County Board of License Commissioners
in office on July 1, 1983, but the provisions of this Act
concerning the terms of office of the current members of the
