HARRY HUGHES, Governor
(2)  Pursuant to executive order, the Governor finds
that there is a substantial likelihood that the absence of a
storage or disposal site for low-level nuclear wastes in or out
of this State will cause a cessation within this State of power
generation, medical treatments or diagnosis, scientific research,
or other activity relying upon nuclear sources or presenting a
serious threat to the public safety or health; or (3)  The Department determines, under standards
adopted by regulation, that: (i) The half-lives or specific activity of the
low-level nuclear waste is, or within a period not in excess of 6
months will be, at such a level that the waste does not require
special handling or subsurface disposal or storage; and (ii) The low-level nuclear waste can be
disposed of in the same manner as other hazardous substances or
handled as conventional waste. (c) An executive order issued under this section shall be
submitted to the General Assembly and shall become effective 30
days after the date of submission unless specifically disapproved
by a resolution concurred in by a majority vote of the membership
of each House of the General Assembly, during a regular or
special session.]
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983. Approved May 31, 1983.
CHAPTER 584 (Senate Bill 125) AN ACT concerning Frozen Desserts - Licensing and Sale FOR the purpose of altering the definition of "frozen dessert";
establishing a fee schedule for certain licenses and
renewals based on the manufacturer's annual production and
sales of any frozen dessert or frozen dessert mix; and
eliminating a prohibition on the sale or advertisement for
sale of certain imitation frozen desserts; and providing for
authorization of frozen dessert manufacturers by the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene for the sale of certain frozen desserts. BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
