SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Natural Resources
4-1208.
UPON THE FAILURE OF ANY PERSON TO APPEAR IN A COURT OF THIS
STATE AS REQUIRED BY ANY CHARGING DOCUMENT ACCUSING THE PERSON OF
COMMITTING ANY OFFENSE UNDER THIS TITLE, IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER
APPROPRIATE ACTION TAKEN BY THE COURT OR THE DEPARTMENT, THE
COURT AND THE DEPARTMENT SHALL MAY SUSPEND AUTOMATICALLY
IMMEDIATELY SUSPEND, WITHOUT HEARING, ANY LICENSE ISSUED TO THE
PERSON UNDER THIS TITLE. THE DEPARTMENT MAY NOT ISSUE A NEW
LICENSE ANY NEW LICENSE UNDER THIS TITLE TO THE PERSON UNTIL THE
PERSON APPEARS IN COURT TO ANSWER THE CHARGING DOCUMENT.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983.

AN ACT concerning
Oyster Licenses - Scuba Divers - Information on Applications
FOR the purpose of requiring the Department of Natural Resources
to require applicants for a license to catch oysters to
indicate whether they will use certain diving apparatus;
requiring the Department to obtain certain other information
from applicants for this license to catch oysters; and
making stylistic changes.
