AN ACT concerning
St. Mary's County - Planning and Zoning
FOR the purpose of altering the number of publications of notice
of certain public hearings relating to zoning district
boundaries required in St. Mary's County.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 66B - Zoning and Planning

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 66B - Zoning and Planning
4.04.
(A) The local legislative body shall provide for the manner
in which such regulations and restrictions and the boundaries of
such districts shall be determined, established, and enforced,
and from time to time amended, supplemented, modified, or
repealed. However, a regulation, restriction, or boundary may
not become effective until 10 days after at least 1 public
hearing in relation thereto, at which parties in interest and
citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard.
(B) EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (C) OF THIS SECTION,
[Notice] NOTICE of the time and place of the public hearing,
together with a summary of the proposed regulation, restriction,
or boundary, shall be published in at least 1 newspaper of
general circulation in the jurisdiction once each week for 2
successive weeks, with the first such publication of notice
appearing at least 14 days prior to the hearing.
(C) IN ST. MARY'S COUNTY, ONLY 1 PUBLICATION OF NOTICE AND
SUMMARY IS REQUIRED AT LEAST 14 DAYS PRIOR TO THE HEARING.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983.
