PHYSICAL FITNESS.

13-402. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE.

THE PURPOSES OF THIS SUBTITLE AND OF THE COMMISSIONS
THAT IT CREATES ARE TO PROTECT AND IMPROVE PHYSICAL FITNESS,
INCLUDING:

(1) IMPROVEMENT OF HABITS IN
EXERCISE, SPORTS, AND THE USE OF LEISURE TIME;

HEALTH; AND

RECREATION,
(2) PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF PHYSIQUE AND

PURPOSES.

(3) IMPROVEMENT OF INSTRUCTION FOR ANY OF THESE

41, § 345 and the second clause of the first
sentence of § 339.

This section is revised to include the substance
of former Article 41, § 345, which defined
"physical fitness", and is restated as a
statement of purpose. Although former Article
41, § 339 referred only to the purpose of the
State Commission, the broad definition of
physical fitness in former Article 41, § 345
suggested it should be stated as the- purpose of
this subtitle and of all of the commissions
created by it.
