Article 11-E of the Constitution of the State of Maryland
and Section 12 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, entitled "Municipal Corporations", as said Section
was enacted by Chapter 423 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, 1955, entitled "A RESOLUTION TO AMEND
THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF CUMBERLAND, MARYLAND (1966
Edition), BY REPEALING AND REENACTING, WITH AMENDMENTS,
SECTION 49, 58A, and 58B OF SAID CHARTER."

[Sections 49, 58A, and 58B of the Charter of the City
of Cumberland, Allegany County, repealed and reenacted, with
amendments.

Effective Date June 18, 1981]

RESOLUTION NO. 288

A RESOLUTION INTRODUCING

PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF

PROPERTIES NORTH AND EAST

OF THE CURRENT TOWN BOUNDARIES

WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Denton have initiated a
proposal to enlarge the corporate boundaries of the Town of
Denton, so as to include an area north and east of the
current town boundaries; and

WHEREAS, the consents for such proposal have been
obtained by the signatures of not less than twenty-five per
centum (25%) of the persons who reside in the area to be
annexed and who are registered as voters in the county
elections and from the owners of not less than twenty-five
per centum (25%) of the assessed valuation of the real
property located in the area to be annexed;

Caroline County, added.
