SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland read(s) as follows:
Article 6 - Caroline County
[130.
It shall not be lawful for any person to shoot, or
shoot at, or in any manner kill any fox in Caroline County,
except when said fox is destroying poultry, livestock, or
crops. Any person or persons violating the provisions of
this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction, shall be fined, not less than twenty-five
dollars and not more than fifty dollars, for each and every
offense.]
130.
(A) EXCEPT WHEN A FOX IS IN THE ACT OF PURSUING,
ATTACKING, WOUNDING, OR DESTROYING POULTRY OR LIVESTOCK, A
PERSON, OTHER THAN A LANDOWNER OR HIS AGENT ON HIS LAND, MAY
NOT SHOOT, GIG, TRAP, BAIT, OR IN ANY MANNER TAKE, DESTROY,
OR ATTEMPT TO DESTROY A FOX IN CAROLINE COUNTY.
(B) ANY PERSON CONVICTED OF VIOLATING THE PROVISIONS
OF THIS SECTION:
(1) IS GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND SUBJECT TO A
FINE OF NOT LESS THAN $250 $50 AND NOT MORE THAN $500 $100,
or imprisonment not exceeding 99 30 DAYS, OR BOTH; AND
(2) MAY HAVE HIS HUNTING LICENSE REVOKED FOR A
PERIOD NOT TO EXCEED 5 2 YEARS; AND
(3) (2) IS SUBJECT TO A FINE OF NOT LESS THAN
$500 $100 AND NOT MORE THAN $1,000, OR IMPRISONMENT NOT
EXCEEDING 1 YEAR, OR BOTH, IF CHARGED WITH, AND CONVICTED
OF, A SECOND OR SUBSEQUENT OFFENSE.
