IF THE INDIVIDUAL IS TO BE HELD IN CUSTODY, THE COURT
SHALL ADVISE THE INDIVIDUAL THAT THE INDIVIDUAL IS ENTITLED
TO COMMUNICATE, WITHOUT CHARGE, BY LETTER OR TELEPHONE, TO
OBTAIN COUNSEL AND TO INFORM A RELATIVE OR FRIEND OF THE
PROCEEDING.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article
43B, § 9(q) and the fifth sentence of (f). It is
revised to apply to all commitment proceedings
under this subtitle. See revisor's note to §
9-601 of this subtitle.

9-608. PROCEDURES AND FACILITIES FOR MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS.

THE ADMINISTRATION SHALL SPECIFY:

(1)  ACCEPTED MEDICAL PROCEDURES AND TESTS TO BE
USED TO DO THE MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS REQUIRED UNDER THIS
SUBTITLE; AND

(2)  THE FACILITIES AT WHICH THE MEDICAL
EXAMINATIONS ARE TO BE DONE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Item (1) of this section is new
language derived without substantive change from
the first sentence of former Article 43B, § 9(i).
It is revised to apply to all medical
examinations under this subtitle. See revisor's
note to § 9-601 of this subtitle.

Item (2) of this section is new language added to
avoid repetition of references to a medical
examination "at a facility designated by the
Administration". See § 9-402(b) of this title.
