The fourth sentence of former Article 43B, §
3(b), which allowed for successive terms, is
deleted as unnecessary. As a general rule, the
right to serve successive terms is not limited,
absent an express provision to the contrary.

9-303. OFFICERS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

FROM AMONG ITS APPOINTED MEMBERS, THE STATE ADVISORY
COUNCIL SHALL ELECT A CHAIRMAN AND A VICE CHAIRMAN.

(B)  ELECTIONS AND TERMS OF OFFICE.

THE MANNER OF ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND THEIR TERMS OF
OFFICE SHALL BE AS THE STATE ADVISORY COUNCIL DETERMINES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is new
language derived without substantive change from
the second sentence of former Article 43B, §
3(a).

Subsection (b) of this section is standard
language added for clarity.

9-304. MEETINGS; COMPENSATION; STAFF SERVICES.

(A) MEETINGS.

(1)  THE STATE ADVISORY COUNCIL SHALL MEET:

(I)  AT LEAST EVERY THIRD MONTH, AT THE
TIMES AND PLACES THAT IT DETERMINES; AND

(II)  AT THE CALL OF ITS CHAIRMAN.

(2)  AT LEAST 2 MEETINGS A YEAR SHALL BE HELD
JOINTLY WITH THE STATE ADVISORY COUNCIL ON ALCOHOLISM
CONTROL AND THE STATE ADVISORY COUNCIL ON MENTAL HYGIENE.

(B) COMPENSATION AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES.
