(c)  Issuance and renewal of the license are subject to
[an annual] A BIENNIAL license fee. All barber school
licenses shall expire BIENNIALLY on [ May 31 [ of each
year ] JANUARY 31 ] of each odd numbered year OF EACH
ODD-NUMBERED YEAR. The Board may prorate the fee for [the
first year of] licensure.

(d)  The Board may adopt, promulgate, and amend from
time to time such reasonable and necessary rules and
regulations for the conduct and operation of barber schools
as it may deem proper to assure effective management,
competent instruction, sanitary operation, and adequately
trained students and graduates. The rules and regulations
may restrict the number of students at any school when
deemed necessary to assure competent instruction and
adequate training. With the approval of the State Department
of Education, the rules and regulations may specify the
subjects in the schools' curriculum.

(e)  Each school shall conform to all rules and
regulations adopted and promulgated by the Board, as well as
to any sanitary and health rules and regulations adopted and
promulgated by the State Department of Health AND MENTAL
HYGIENE. Each student during the period of his actual
attendance at a school shall be assigned the exclusive use
of a barber chair.

(a) A license may not be issued or renewed nor an
application taken until the applicant pays the appropriate
fee as follows:

(1)  Master barber examination                                $20

(2)  Master barber certificate [$10 ] $20
BIENNIAL RENEWAL                                                   $20

(3)  Journeyman examination                                       $ 5

(4)  Journeyman license                            [ $10 ] $20
BIENNIAL RENEWAL                                                   $20

(5)  Student permit                                                       $ 5

(6)  Barber school application                                 $25
