subdivisions of the State", for brevity and
conformity to the terminology used in the
Education Article.

Addictions, over education and training programs

8-407. HEALTH OFFICERS.

(A)   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES.

THE HEALTH OFFICER FOR EACH COUNTY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

(1)  THE ALCOHOLISM CONTROL PROGRAM IN THE
COUNTY; AND

(2)  SUPERVISING GENERALLY THE ALCOHOLISM
PROGRAMS AND FACILITIES THAT THE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT
PROVIDES OR SUPPORTS.

(B)  DUTIES.

THE HEALTH OFFICER FOR EACH COUNTY SHALL:

(1)  WITH THE ADVICE OF THE COUNTY ALCOHOLISM
COORDINATOR, REVISE ANNUALLY THE COUNTY PLAN FOR PROVIDING
OR CONTRACTING FOR SERVICES AND FACILITIES AND FOR OTHER
MATTERS NECESSARY OR DESIRABLE TO CARRY OUT THIS TITLE;

(2)  PREPARE ANNUALLY A BUDGET FOR CARRYING OUT
THE PLAN;

(3)  ASSURE THAT:

(I) THERE IS ADEQUATE STAFF FOR THE COUNTY
PROGRAMS AND FACILITIES; AND

(II) THE STAFF AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
MEET THE STANDARDS THAT THE DIRECTOR ADOPTS;
