(A)   [Whenever the water systems of] IF Howard County
[are] IS supplied with water from systems [owned and
operated by the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission] OF
THE WSSC, [then] the [Washington Suburban Sanitary
Commission] WSSC may [formulate] ADOPT rules and regulations
[requiring] TO REQUIRE:

(1)   [water use] WATER saving devices[,];

(2)   [curtailing] CURTAILING of water use during
water restriction periods[,]; and

(3)   [conformance] COMPLIANCE with health
requirements of the [Washington Suburban Sanitary District]
WSSC'S plumbing regulations.

(B)  Howard County shall comply with these regulations
[as to] FOR those parts of Howard County's water system
supplied with water by the [Washington Suburban Sanitary
Commission] WSSC.

[15-5] 15-105. Tampering with system.

[It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or
corporation to] EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN THE WSSC'S RULES AND
REGULATIONS, A PERSON MAY NOT use, handle, tamper with,
obstruct, or interfere with any portion of the water
[systems] SYSTEM of the Howard County [Metropolitan
Commission] DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS [which are] THAT IS
supplied with water from the [systems owned and operated by
the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission] WATER SYSTEM OF
THE WSSC, including pipes, fittings, fireplugs, pumps,
engines, appliances, wires, or other fixtures or equipment
[except under such rules and regulations as the commission
may adopt].

[15-6. Same — Violations and penalties.

Any violation of the provisions of section 15-5 is
hereby declared to be a misdemeanor and shall be punishable
before any justice of the peace or the circuit court of the
county in which such offense is committed, and any person
adjudged guilty thereof shall be subject to a fine not
exceeding one hundred dollars or thirty days in the county
jail or both in the discretion of the court.]

COMMITTEE NOTE: Former Article 67, § 15-6 is combined
with all of the other penalty provisions that are
included in Title 18 of this article.

[15-7] 15-106. Disposition of sewage in Patuxent River
