[commission] WSSC may appoint any [person it] INDIVIDUAL
[sees fit] at [such] ANY salary [it deems advisable to fill
such position] for a period of [six] 6 months without [the
person taking] an examination.

(II) [If the interest of the commission's
work requires, a] THE WSSC MAY MAKE A single extension[, but
no more,] of [six] 6 months [can be made] of [such an] THIS
appointment.

[11-8] 11-108. Transfer of employees.

[The commission] THE WSSC may transfer [as the interest
of its work requires] an employee from [one] 1 department to
another[;], [provided, however, that such] THIS transfer
[shall] MAY NOT result in [no] A diminution of the salary of

(1)   [the] THE employee agrees to the reduced

[11-9] 11-109. Separation from service --Generally.

TEMPORARILY through [lay-off] LAYOFF, suspension, or leave
of absence.

(2) (I) The [commission] WSSC shall, by rule OR
REGULATION, prescribe what shall constitute resignation[,
which].

(II) THE rule OR REGULATION [shall be] IS
subject to the approval of the [state commissioner of
personnel] SECRETARY OF PERSONNEL.

(B)  (1) [No] AN employee may NOT be permanently
removed except for cause and after an opportunity to be
heard [in his own defense]. [Should the discharged employee
desire, he] THE DISCHARGED EMPLOYEE may appeal [his own
case] to the [state commissioner of personnel] SECRETARY OF
PERSONNEL, whose decision [shall be] IS final.

(2) [No] AN employee [shall] MAY NOT be removed
from the classified service because of religious or
political opinions or affiliations.
