COMMITTEE NOTE: Former Article 67, § 11-6, which
related to the examination of employees of the
WSSC on June 1, 1947, is repealed as obsolete.

[11-7] 11-107. List of eligibles; provisional appointments.

(A)  (1) The [commission] WSSC shall:

(I)   [prepare] PREPARE a list [of eligibles
consisting] of the names of [persons] INDIVIDUALS whose
general average and [whose] marks on any part of an
examination exceed the minimum of the rules set by the
[commission] WSSC; and

(II)   [shall send] SEND a copy of the list
to the [state commissioner of personnel] SECRETARY OF
PERSONNEL.

(2)  (I) [Eligible] THESE lists shall continue in
force for [one] 1 year from the date of [preparing the
list,] PREPARATION. [and may be extended by the commission]

(II) THE WSSC MAY EXTEND THIS PERIOD by
action taken before the expiration [of the year] OF THE LIST
and entered in [its] THE WSSC'S minutes.

(3)  (I) [The] ON REQUEST, THE CANDIDATE MAY
INSPECT THE CANDIDATE'S marks and examination papers [of
each candidate shall be open to his inspection upon his
application].

(II) [and should] IF the [applicant not
be] CANDIDATE IS NOT satisfied with the marking [he]
received [by] FROM the [commission, he] WSSC, THE CANDIDATE
may appeal to the [state commissioner of personnel]
SECRETARY OF PERSONNEL, who shall review the matter. [and
whose] THE decision OF THE SECRETARY OF PERSONNEL [shall be]
IS final.

(B)  The [commission] WSSC may appoint to a vacancy in
the classified service any [one of] INDIVIDUAL WHO IS ON the
list [of eligibles as above set forth] AS PROVIDED IN
SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS SECTION.

(C)  (1) [No person, except] EXCEPT FOR present
employees of the [commission as hereinafter described,
shall] WSSC, A PERSON MAY NOT be appointed to a position
under the merit system or classified service unless [he
