(II)  [, which shall be] THE READY TO SERVE
CHARGE IS based [upon] ON the size of the meter on the water
connection leading to the property.

(III)  [, and of a] THE charge for water
used [, which shall be] IS based [upon] ON the amount of
water passing the meter during the period between the last
[two] 2 readings[,].

(IV)  [the] THE meter [being required to]
SHALL be placed on each water connection[,] by[,] and at the
sole expense of the [commission] WSSC.

(2)  THE WSSC MAY PROVIDE THAT THE MINIMUM OR
READY TO SERVE CHARGE INCLUDES A SPECIFIED MINIMUM NUMBER OF
GALLONS OF WATER WITHOUT ADDITIONAL SERVICE CHARGES FOR THE
WATER, AND THE MINIMUM FIGURE MAY VARY WITH THE SIZE OF THE
METER INVOLVED.

(3)  [The commission may, however,] THE WSSC MAY
provide for the billing and collection of the water and
sewer usage charges on an estimated basis for periods of
[six] 6 months or less, but in [such cases it] THAT CASE THE
WSSC shall require that the meters be read every [six] 6
months, and that the final bill for [such six] THE 6 month
period SHALL be based on THE actual consumption adjusted by
the previous estimates.

[The commission may further provide that the minimum or
ready to serve charge, hereinabove provided for, includes a
specified minimum number of gallons of water without
additional service charges therefor, the minimum figure
varying with the size of the meter involved.]

(4) (I) [Bills] A BILL for the amount of [the]
THESE charges [as above specified] shall be sent monthly,
[quarterly,] 4 TIMES A YEAR, or [semiannually] TWICE A YEAR,
as the [commission may determine] WSSC DETERMINES, to each
property served, and ON RECEIPT EACH BILL [shall be
thereupon] IS payable at the office of the [commission;]
WSSC.

[and if any bill shall remain unpaid after 30 days from
date of sending the commission shall after written notice,
to be left upon the premises or mailed to the last known
address of the owner, turn off the water from the property
in question and it shall not be turned on again until the
bill, together with late payment penalty charges as
authorized by law and the cost incurred in shutting off and
restoring the water supply, shall have been paid.]

(II) AN ADDITIONAL LATE PAYMENT CHARGE OF
5 PERCENT OF THE UNPAID CHARGES SHALL BE ADDED AND COLLECTED
AS PART OF THE BILL IF:
