Article 73B - Pensions

Section 117(1)(a) and 145(1)(a)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows;

Article 73B - Pensions

111.

In this subtitle the following have the meanings
indicated.

(8)  "Eligibility service" means service
recognized for determining eligibility for benefits under
this pension system.

(9)  "Creditable service" means service
recognized for computing the amount of any benefit under
this pension system,

117.

(1) (a) Any member may retire on written application
to the board of trustees setting forth at what time he
desires to be retired, provided that the member at the time
he specifies for his retirement shall have attained: (i) 30
years of [creditable] ELIGIBILITY service, or (ii) the age
and have the years of [creditable] ELIGIBILITY service as
follows and notwithstanding that during the period of
notification he may have separated from service;
