AN ACT concerning

Volunteer Firemen and Rescue Squadmen -
Death or Disability Benefits - State Appropriations

FOR the purpose of correcting a cross-reference relating to
the annual appropriation in the State budget for
certain benefits to volunteer firemen and squadmen
killed or disabled in the line of duty; making
stylistic changes; renumbering; and generally relating
to death and disability benefits for volunteer firemen
and rescue squadmen and their families.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article 38A - Fires and Investigations

44 42B.

(A) The sum of [not less than] AT LEAST $55,000 shall
be included in the State budget each year for the purposes
set forth in §§ 42 [, ] AND 43 42A [and 45] of this article
AND FOR SCHOLARSHIPS FOR CHILDREN OF VOLUNTEER FIREMEN OR
VOLUNTEER RESCUE SQUADMEN KILLED OR DISABLED IN THE LINE OF
DUTY, UNDER § 18-602 OF THE EDUCATION ARTICLE. [These sums]
