(4) A MEMBER WHO IS APPOINTED AFTER A TERM HAS
BEGUN SERVES ONLY FOR THE REST OF THE TERM AND UNTIL A
SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED.

547 21-4. OFFICERS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

FROM AMONG ITS MEMBERS, THE COMMISSION ANNUALLY SHALL
ELECT A PRESIDENT, SECRETARY, AND TREASURER.

(B)  ELECTIONS AND TERMS OF OFFICE.

THE MANNER OF ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND MEETINGS SHALL
BE AS THE COMMISSION DETERMINES.

548 21-5. MISCELLANEOUS POWERS AND DUTIES.

(A)  THE COMMISSION MAY ESTABLISH THE POSITION OF
CURATOR.

(B)  THE COMMISSION MAY ESTABLISH AN OFFICE OF THE
CURATOR FOR CHARLES COUNTY LOCATED IN THE SOUTHERN MARYLAND
ROOM OF THE CHARLES COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

(C) THE COMMISSION MAY ACCEPT FUNDS, GIFTS, LEGACIES,
BEQUESTS, AND ENDOWMENTS FROM PRIVATE SOURCES FOR ANY
PURPOSE THAT IS WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF THE COMMISSION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the initial
terms of office of the members of the Charles County
Heritage Commission shall be:

(1)  3 members appointed for an initial term of 1
year;

(2)  3 members appointed for an initial term of 2
years; and

(3)  3 members appointed for an initial term of 3
years.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.
