(2)  FILE EACH PRESCRIPTION RECEIVED BY THE
PHARMACIST WITH AN APPROPRIATE NUMBER;

(3)  KEEP A RECORD OF EACH AUTHORIZED REFILLING
OF A PRESCRIPTION; AND

(4)  IF THE SALE IS EXEMPTED UNDER SUBSECTION
4-1105(B) OF THIS SUBTITLE, KEEP A RECORD OF THE:

(I)  NAME AND QUANTITY OF THE BARBITURATE
SOLD;

(II)  DATE ON WHICH THE BARBITURATE WAS
SOLD; AND

(III)  NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE PURCHASER.

(D)  USUAL RECORDS.

EXCEPT FOR THE INVENTORY OF THE INITIAL STOCK ON HAND,
THE USUAL COMMERCIAL OR OTHER RECORDS KEPT BY MANUFACTURERS,
WHOLESALERS, PRACTITIONERS, OR PHARMACISTS:

(1)  MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SECTION; AND

(2)  SHALL BE KEPT.

(E)  INSPECTION OF RECORDS.

ON WRITTEN REQUEST BY THE DEPARTMENT, ANY PERSON
REQUIRED BY THIS SECTION TO KEEP FILES OR RECORDS THAT
RELATE TO BARBITURATES SHALL:

(1)  MAKE THOSE FILES OR RECORDS AVAILABLE TO THE
DEPARTMENT FOR INSPECTION AND COPYING; AND

(2)  GIVE THE DEPARTMENT AN OPPORTUNITY TO CHECK
THE CORRECTNESS OF THE FILES OR RECORDS, INCLUDING AN
OPPORTUNITY TO INVENTORY ALL BARBITURATES ON HAND.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as
Article 43, § 287.

In subsection (c)(ii) of this section, the words
"or the pharmacist's agents or employees" are
added for clarity and for consistency with
subsections (a) and (b) of this section.

In subsections (b) and (c) of this section, the
former references to June 1, 1947 are deleted as
obsolete.

The last clause of former Article 43, § 287(e) is
deleted as unnecessary in light of § 4-1107(e) of
