"distributor" and a "bobtailer" and to conform to
practice. Under that practice, a bobtailer
merely operates a milk route and does not store
pasteurized milk products in a warehouse. On the
other hand, a distributor is considered to be one
who stores pasteurized milk products in a
warehouse and who also might operate a milk
route.

The defined term "milk processor" is substituted
for "processor".

(C)  CERTIFIED INDUSTRY DAIRY FARM INSPECTOR.

"CERTIFIED INDUSTRY DAIRY FARM INSPECTOR" MEANS AN
INDIVIDUAL WHO IS CERTIFIED BY THE SECRETARY UNDER § 4-414
OF THIS SUBTITLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
for clarity.

As to powers of the Secretary as to certified
industry dairy farm inspectors, see § 4-414 of
this subtitle.

(D)  DAIRY FARM.

"DAIRY FARM" MEANS A PLACE WHERE AT LEAST 1 COW OR GOAT
IS KEPT, AND FROM WHICH THE MILK IS SOLD OR OFFERED FOR
SALE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article
43, § 570(a).

The former defined term "dairy or dairy farm" is
shortened to simply "dairy farm" for clarity.

In this subsection and throughout this subtitle,
the former phrase "premise, or establishment" is
deleted as repetitive of the word "place".

In this subsection, the word "goat" is added, in
light of the definition of "milk", to clarify
that milk obtained from goats is regulated by
this subtitle. This revision is called to the
attention of the General Assembly.

(E)  DEPARTMENTAL INSPECTION AREA.

"DEPARTMENTAL INSPECTION AREA" MEANS THE AREA IN WHICH
THE DEPARTMENT ROUTINELY MAKES INSPECTIONS UNDER THIS
SUBTITLE.
