SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland read(s) as follows:

Article 8 - Cecil County

9-12.

(A)  The board of county commissioners [are hereby
authorized and directed to cause] SHALL HAVE the books of
the county treasurer, AND clerk to the board of county
commissioners and board of estimates, [to be] audited by a
well-known and approved firm of certified public
accountants.

(B)  The [said] board of county commissioners shall
cause the [said] audit to be made at the end of each fiscal
year and the report thereon [must] SHALL be filed in the
office of the county treasurer COMMISSIONERS within six
months after the close of the fiscal year.

(C)  [A condensed report and accountant's certificate
shall thereafter promptly be published by the county
commissioners in at least one issue, in not less than two
newspapers of general circulation published in Cecil
County.] THE COUNTY TREASURER COMMISSIONERS SHALL KEEP THE
AUDIT REPORT AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC
DURING REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS FOR A REASONABLE LENGTH OF
TIME.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.
